FEDERAL RMP UPDATES
IMPORTANT NEWS: RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN DATA ELEMENTS AND UPDATE RULE IS FINAL
This rule change requires facilities to submit new information in the RMP submittal sent to EPA. It also has more frequent update requirements for this new information than previously required. The link below will bring you to the proposed rule changes.
All RMPs are still sent to EPA. See the EPA link here,http://www.epa.gov/fedrgstr/EPA-AIR/2003/July/Day-31/a19281.htm to review the rule changes. Highlights are as Follows:
- If you have a RMP accident 6 mo. to report - must meet RMP accident definition
- A change in emergency contact info. 30 days to report correction, not full update
- Executive summary remove OCA inforamtion
- A change in E-mail address - correction, not full update
- New data element for nature of submission revision, correction, adm., de-registration
- Name of RMP preparer if other than facility
- There will be a new version of RMP Submit to download and use to accommodate the new requirements.
